>> The Worst Games on Steam The most hated Steam games of 2026
Every Steam game has fans. Even the bad ones. So when we say "worst games on Steam", we mean something specific: the games that lose almost every duel against the rest of the libraries they sit in, and keep losing no matter who plays them.
Below are the most hated games on Steam right now, pulled straight from needmoar.games. We only included games ranked by at least 25 players, so one angry person with a grudge can't land anything on this list.
Quick context for the numbers: "beats 13%" means players rank that game above only 13% of the other games they own. For comparison, the average game sits around 50%.
The worst games on Steam (25+ players)
1. Banana
A free clicker where you click a banana to get more bananas. That's it. That's the game. Banana blew up because people idled it for tradeable drops, not because anyone enjoyed playing it, and the duels show exactly that. With 134 players, it's the most hated game on the entire site, and almost two thirds of them put it in the bottom 20% of their library.
2. Cube Racer
A multiplayer racer where everyone builds obstacles between rounds. Sounds like a party game, plays like a game nobody's friends wanted to join. Nearly half of its 38 players ranked it below 90% of everything else they own.
3. Highguard
The newest entry here and the biggest surprise. A 2026 PvP raid shooter with mounts and arcane gunslingers, and players are brutal about it: 26 of its 61 players put it at the very bottom of their library. A small group likes it, everyone else really doesn't.
4. Boring Man: Online Tactical Stickman Combat
The name is honest, at least. Players rank it above just 17% of their library across 31 players.
5. Travellin Cats in Paris
Cute cats, Paris, and almost no one who wanted to come back. Beats 17% of a typical library across 32 players.
6. Dead Bits
A first-person shooter about a hedgehog abducted by cube aliens, with a dubstep soundtrack. It's very 2014, and players have not been kind: 35 players, beats 18%.
7. Dino D-Day
Dinosaurs fighting in World War II should be an instant classic. Instead, it's one of the most consistently disliked shooters on Steam: 46 of its 59 players rank it in the bottom 30% of their library.
8. BRAIN / OUT
A 2D multiplayer shooter with a loyal niche and a lot of people who bounced off it hard. 44 players, beats 19%.
9. Tower of Fantasy
The anime MMO that was supposed to be the next Genshin. Among its 42 players, 17 put it at the absolute bottom. But look closer and a handful rank it in their top 20%. Hated by most, adored by a few.
10. Enclave
An old-school fantasy action game that hasn't aged well with the players who own it. 51 players, beats 22%.

The most hated popular games on Steam (100+ players)
The list above is full of games most people forgot they own. This one is different. These are big, well-known Steam games that hundreds of players have ranked, and they still land near the bottom.
Aimlabs
The most ranked game in the bottom tier, with 454 players. Makes sense: nobody launches an aim trainer for fun. It's homework for your shooter, and players rank it like homework.
VRChat
448 players, beats 25%. But this one isn't simply hated, it's split. A big group puts it at the bottom, while a real chunk of players rank it among their favorite games ever. If it clicked for you, it really clicked.
Black Desert
Same pattern as VRChat. Across 349 players, most rank it low, but 57 of them put it in their top 30%. The classic MMO problem: either it becomes your life, or you uninstall after the tutorial.
MultiVersus
Warner Bros' free-to-play platform fighter had every big name you could want and still ended up near the bottom with 346 players. Fans of Overwatch and Deadlock tend to like it, Apex and PUBG players mostly don't.
Heroes & Generals
A massive WW2 war-of-nations shooter that 175 players mostly remember for the wrong reasons. Beats 24% of a typical library.

Why these lists look different from Steam reviews
Some of these games look perfectly fine on Steam reviews. That's because reviews ask "did you like this?", and the people who stick around long enough to write one usually did. Duels ask a harsher question: "is this better than that other game you own?" Against Elden Ring, Hades or Stardew Valley, Banana doesn't stand a chance.
What is the worst game on Steam?
Based on 134 players who ranked it against their own libraries, Banana is currently the most hated game on Steam. Among bigger, more widely played games, Aimlabs, VRChat and Black Desert rank lowest.

Think we're wrong about Black Desert? Think something way worse is missing? Rank your own Steam library and every duel you play moves these lists.
