MoistCr1tikal — penguinz0, Charlie, the internet's calmest man — sat down and named his top 50 games. So we did the only responsible thing and ran the whole list through the one court that outranks any streamer: our own duelling crowd.
A house rule on the bars you're about to see. Nobody here filled in a review form. Every number comes from duels — "this or that?" picks folded into a per-player ranking and then a community median. A game's beats-% is just the share of a typical library it beats: 50% is dead average, 90% means it's beating nine games out of ten that people actually own. It's taste, not marketing.
The one catch
This one really is a top 50 — no asterisk on the count. The only snag is that Charlie's taste was forged on consoles, and a solid chunk of his picks never came to Steam: Bloodborne (obviously), the Nintendo wing, StarCraft II, a couple of PS-only cult gems. needmoar runs on Steam libraries, so those sit this round out. Everything that did make it to Steam is below — his ranking on the left, the crowd's verdict beside it.

The verdict
Where the crowd can actually check his homework, a pattern falls out almost too neatly — and it's a different pattern than you'd expect from a guy famous for his taste.
Charlie and the crowd shake hands on the modern juggernauts, the games already installed on half the libraries in the arena: Elden Ring, Baldur's Gate 3, Red Dead Redemption 2, Hades, Doom Eternal, Clair Obscur. Tight rows, top to bottom. No argument.
The widest gaps are his reverent deep cuts — the cult classics and 2000s critical darlings he clearly grew up worshipping: Psychonauts, Dead Space, Bayonetta, NieR, BioShock 2, Oblivion. Beloved games, canon games, the kind a connoisseur puts on a list to signal he gets it — and exactly the kind a broad crowd, ranking their own shelves today, files as merely fine. His list is a love letter to the canon; the crowd votes with what's booted up this week. The seam between them runs right along "did the critics tell you to love it?"
Honorable mentions go to the picks we weren't allowed to score. Bloodborne — still, gallingly, not on PC — plus Ocarina of Time, Super Mario 64, Mario Kart 64, Smash Bros. Melee, GoldenEye, StarCraft II, Sly Cooper and Lost Odyssey never stepped into a Steam library, so they never entered a duel. Take that as its own kind of endorsement: the crowd can't drag down a game it can't get its hands on, and Charlie gets to keep those trophies uncontested.
